Description
SatLayer unlocks the full potential of Bitcoin as productive and yield-bearing by providing the ultimate form of shared security to all of crypto, starting with leading decentralized applications and infrastructure in top L1/L2 ecosystems as Bitcoin Validated Services ("BVS").
SatLayer itself is a set of smart contracts deployed on Babylon Chain, which enables:
- Staked $BTC on Babylon Chain to also secure Bitcoin Validated Services (“BVSs”) deployed through SatLayer.
- BTC stakers to delegate to operators, who provide crypto-economic security to BVSs and earn rewards from participating BVSs in exchange for this work.
- BVSs the ability to slash staked $BTC collateral delegated to operators who act maliciously or do not act according to the required standards of the BVS.
